Rose has loved dancing since she was a child, but it wasn’t until she came across Middle Eastern Dance in her teens that she found something that really suited her.
Her style is mostly traditional “Raks Sharqi” or “belly dancing”; she uses various props including veils, zills, swords and trays.
She loves drama and incorporates this into her performances.
She has danced in several countries:
She began dancing at the School of Contemporary Belly Dance in her hometown, Christchurch, New Zealand.
She has danced and taught classes in Antarctica, on Ross Island and while sailing in the Ross Sea.
Currently she is dancing in the United States, in La Jolla, under the inspiring guidance of Lucia.
Rose is living in San Diego for the next 6-8 months; she is making the most of the beautiful weather, stunning scenery and friendly dance community.
